WELCOME TO ARK HOUSE
Dear Guests,
On behalf of the volunteers and Board of Directors of Ark House, we welcome you.
Please take a few minutes to review the contents of these Resident Handbook webpages as they will answer many questions you may have about the apartment.
This apartment is provided for you by Ark House. Ark House is an all-volunteer, non-profit organization. We do not have any paid staff, nor do we have an office. All work is done by volunteers.
We try to furnish the apartment with all the items that will help make this your “home away from home”. We ask that you give the apartment and its furnishings the same good care that you would your own belongings.
Ark House apartment volunteers are required to visit and enter each apartment weekly. Please give them your co-operation. They replenish the paperwork in the apartment and make certain the apartment is clean, orderly, and occupied. A note will be placed on the table indicating that they have visited if you are not present.
While in Ark House, you may receive a telephone call from your “Shepherd”. Shepherds are volunteers who reach out to resident families by telephone to offer friendship and support. You should feel free to talk to your Shepherd to whatever extent is helpful to you. If you have not received a phone call from your Shepherd, and would like someone to talk with, please call Ark House “Resident Services” and they will arrange for a “Shepherd” to contact you.
We know this is a stressful time for you and your family. We hope you will find the apartment a place for rest and renewal.
Sincerely,
The Ark House Board
